Multi-platform / multi-screen, timeshift television and remote-storage digital video recording (RS-DVR) services represent new opportunities for cable operators to retain subscribers and increase ARPU. Although direct monetization of these services through subscription fees is possible, dynamic and addressable advertising will provide the most significant revenue increment. This presentation describes the fundamental standards for digital Ad-Insertion and Ad-VoD and how linear and advanced advertising technologies can be integrated with a timeshift television solution to leverage the best advantages of both traditional linear digital program insertion and on-demand ad placement.
