T5 - an engineer's perspective

This presentation describes the engineering challenges of designing and constructing a building when approximately 60% of the costs are for services and state-of-the-art electronic systems. The project has embraced new models of integrated teamwork to deliver the outcomes and the lecture examines what impact this has had. The Heathrow Terminal-5 (T5) Project was one of the largest construction projects in Europe. This £4 billion project had a peak workforce of 5,000 and a daily spend of £3 million.
