We propose a novel silicon photonics WSS with sidewall-corrugated contra-directional couplers which does not have an FSR and is suitable for broadband operation. A fabricated 22 single-channel WSS demonstrates the expected operation with an outband extinction of 30dB over a wavelength range wider than C-band.
