This presentation discusses the use of surrogate modelling, focusing on the performance comparison of different kriging surrogate models. The different models are investigated and applied to the design of a superconducting magnetic energy storage system and a switched reluctance motor. Finally, some comments on the selection of a proper surrogate model are given for the optimal design of electromagnetic problems.
