This presentation describes how EUROCONTROL contributes to (and promotes) the maintenance and improvement of air traffic management (ATM) safety across Europe, by means of specific safety initiatives, safety assessments and the production of safety cases, underpinned by an SMS currently being implemented. An outline of the underlying safety "theory" is followed by an overview of safety management "in action"
