    Alan is a founding Director of Reaction Engines Ltd. and inventor of the SABRE engine. Alan began his career at Rolls-Royce and British Aircraft Corporation where he gained wide experience in gas turbines and rockets. Subsequently Alan worked at the Atomic Energy Authority on the JET and RFX nuclear research projects, and as a consultant engineer to BAe Systems during the HOTOL space launcher project having invented its RB545 air-breathing rocket engines.
