About the session

This lecture reviews the history of Robot Wars. Numerous robots are introduced and demonstrated during the lecture, including the well-known Daleks from the Doctor Who series, including one from the feature film 'Devious'. The lecture gives a fascinating insight into the world of robots and their place in entertainment. It commences with a brief history of Robot Wars, from San Francisco/Los Angeles street theatre to the sophisticated Battlebots in Las Vegas. Different types of robot technology are then explained and demonstrated.
