    Chris Daly

Birmingham Airport Ltd., Airfield Engineering Department, Airfield Engineer

After successfully completing an electrical apprenticeship in the 1990s, Chris worked for a small local company, before eventually settling with a large multinational company, repairing and servicing integrated security systems for a variety of large chain stores, local government agencies and the banking industry. In 2003 Chris was looking for a new challenge in his career and joined Birmingham Airport as an Airfield Electrician. After working in this role for six years, building valuable knowledge and experience, an opportunity arose for a new role within the Airfield Engineering Department. Chris was the successful candidate and took on the new role of Airfield Engineer in February 2009. This role covers a number of aspects from managing a successful team of Airfield Technicians supporting the operational demands of plant and equipment on the airfield. Chris's objective is to ensure compliance with the Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems and maintain associated equipment. Birmingham Airport will start a major project this year, extending the runway to increase its global market reach and business model. As part of the Runway project Chris will be actively involved with the selection process and implementation of new AGL products.
