Renewable energy - at what price?

The UK Government's Energy Review may not have defined clear actions to address the country’s impending power generation gap, but it has opened the debate about the future methods of powering the nation. One of the key references in the Energy Review is the PB Power report entitled Powering the Nation, which presents a clear measure of the likely cost associated with generating electricity from available technologies including coal, gas, nuclear, wind and renewables. This presentation looks at the detailed analysis conducted by PB Power in preparing the report and reviews some of the other forecasts of cost for renewable electricity.
