About the session

In our first day of the Transforming higher education: digital skills for a digital future conference, we showcased some of the most innovative digital tools that are being used in higher education.

Professor Mehmet Karamanoglu and Luke Bennett, Middlesex University, look at the impacts of COVID-19 on institutions. Many institutions have resorted to alternative ways of teaching using online environments. This has presented numerous challenges for staff and students, particularly in subject areas that promote practice-based learning approaches. This presentation showcases three different scenarios of how Design Engineering and Mathematics department at Middlesex University has implemented various technologies to be able to offer similar practical experiences to students in teaching topics related to Automation and Mechatronics degree programmes.
