  • 00:5 - 00:5
  • Duration: 23 mins
  • Publication date: 08 Dec 2006
  • Location: IETTV_Room, IETTV_Venue, London, United Kingdom
  • Part of event IET Seminar on High Power Diode Pumped Lasers and Systems

About the session

High-power laser diode technology at 800-1100 nm is advancing rapidly, providing dramatic increases in output power while maintaining reliability. This is enabling new markets such as fiber lasers (for various industrial applications), laser TV and direct diode applications as well as continuing to drive down the $/W for diode pumped solid state laser applications. This talk covers the improvements in chip technology as well as actions to reduce packaging cost through offshore assembly while maintaining quality and reliability.
