This presentation covers the basic legislation that sits behind the privatised railways of Britain and the relationships which exist between the various parties which provide the rail services in Britain. The presentation also looks at the framework which exists following various Acts of Parliament, some of the effects of the Rail Packages introduced by European legislation and a number of pieces of secondary legislation which affect the day to day operation of the rail system.
