Planning a quality broadcast sport lighting scheme: a designer perspective

This presentation introduces the lighting of the London Aquatics Center in London's Olympic Park, covering challenges like glare, skip glare, spectator lighting uniformity and f-stops. All of these, together with vertical and horizontal light levels, flicker and slow motion, are discussed and explained. The key lighting quality figures of this venue are described, with the intent to provide a more generic set of guidelines that could be used to achieve successful lighting designs for outside broadcasting and sport.
