About the session

Track Day 2 Track B- Disruptive technologies

The panel's intent is to consider the vulnerabilities that may be introduced by the use of AI. The panel will discuss the unique attack surfaces associated with IT, both as a result of using cloud-based services and unintended, unidentified functionalities that either exist within the AI as a product of their training or emerge through use. The panel will consider:

- What is motivating the inclusion of AI/ML in ICS and NCI?

- What are the vulnerabilities that are being introduced by rolling out AI/ML tools in ICS and CNI environments?

- Where do the vulnerabilities lie – inside, outside, or both?

- Reliability vs. security – what is the AI responsible for?

- How do current and planned regulations address safety and security in ICS/ CNI where AI/ML is in use?

- How do we navigate the tensions between OT and IT teams where AI/ML is in use?
