SGN, Angus McIntosh Head of Innovation

Following graduation from Aberdeen University, Angus (Gus) started working for BG Group some 15 years ago. He has since performed a variety of roles in gas distribution, from asset management, network design, engineering policy, operations and strategy. He currently heads up SGN’s Innovation and New Technology Team. Starting largely from scratch in 2012 he’s built a portfolio of R&D projects with a value in excess of £50m. Most important to note is that SGN have committed more than £20m to the rollout of innovation into business as usual. Key breakthroughs have included keyhole technology (the core & vac), robotics and gas quality (Oban). Gus now sits on the European Working Group for Gas Quality with Marcogaz and is supporting IGEM with its strategic review.
