About the session

The gas mains replacement programme improves safety and reliability of supply and reduces leakage whilst extending the life of assets.  This seminar will explore the latest approaches and technologies available to deliver improvements to assets, whilst examining efficiencies in replacement activities to minimise the impact and disruption to customers.

    National Grid, Innovation Delivery Manager

    Kate Grant heads up the National Grid Gas Distribution Innovation Team. Kate has a background in large infrastructure delivery and has previously worked as a Project Manager on the Heathrow Terminal 2 Project and the London 2012 Olympic Games. Kate has also worked for E.ON as a Programme Manager, leading the UK R&D programme on energy efficient technologies and applications. Kate graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering. After working for Eskom on the construction of a gas turbine power station, Kate completed an MPhil degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development at Cambridge University.Kate is passionate about accelerating innovation in the gas industry and driving long-term value for customers. She believes that the cornerstones of success are open collaboration and communication with new and existing partners.
