About the session
Home gateways are a key step in the convergence of IP-sourced and DVB-sourced content in the home which offers operators the ability to dramatically simplify the user experience while expanding the sources of content that customers can experience. The ability to view content on any device in the home at a guaranteed high quality is the key to operators' ability to avoid subscriber loss over the coming years. This presentation describes the new types of gateways that are available on the market, the feature sets that can be offered and the challenges associated with deploying these gateways successfully, based on direct experience with recent launches of the ARRIS Whole Home Solution at two North American MSOs.
