In the last three years Ian has driven Mott MacDonald’s response to the issues surrounding climate change and management of the impacts, in terms of institutional and infrastructure interventions.With a background in public health engineering and environmental management, he has over 35 years’ experience in the development of essential infrastructure in the water supply and wastewater sectors and in water resource risk and uncertainty management.His knowledge of the risks and opportunities associated with project finance, and the mechanisms by which public sector support can mobilise private investment and leverage debt financing, has seen him advise a number of public and private sector clients.

Dr Geraldine Bryson

Electricity North West, Innovation Implementation Engineer

Geraldine joined United Utilities (subsequently Electricity North West) as a graduate engineer in 1998. She has a BEng in electrical and electronic engineering and a PhD in design of generators from Queen’s University, Belfast. After a role in the policy and standards team, Geraldine joined the future networks team in 2012 to provide technical expertise for the portfolio of low carbon projects. This includes the approval of all assets to be deployed/trialled on the Electricity North West network and the development of the associated policies and standards covering the application, design and construction of these assets. Geraldine facilitates the transition into business as usual for all innovation projects . She also provides technical input to the development and submission of our flagship innovation projects and was part of the team which was successful in gaining funding to deliver CLASS, Smart Street, Respond and Celsius.
