This presentation discusses the real-time flow monitoring and control of sewer networks. Maintenance-free sensors combined with Web-based data transfer systems are now allowing operators to remotely monitor and control their sewer networks in real time. Descriptions of systems operating in Belgium, Italy and the UK are presented. This case study from one of the leading specialists in the water industry provides the opportunity to benchmark and compare issues and progress against another sector forging their way through challenging issues under rigorous constraints.
