A multiuser visible light communication system using orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) is proposed. Each user is assigned a set of OFDM subcarriers with optimised signal power and modulation. In a multi-cell structure the subcarrier sets are strategically reused to maximize the total throughput.
