About the session

This presentation describes a pilot project carried out jointly by BAE Systems and Kennedy Carter to investigate the feasibility of migrating the analysis and design models for an avionics system from an unsupported structured methods tool to iUML, an modern MDA environment supporting development with executable UML. The successful pilot project migrated a subsystem of an airborne radar system to xUML and constructed a model compiler able to generate Ada code which performed as well as the original hand-coded Ada.
