Management of Electronic Traffic Equipment - a Code of Practice

The Code of Practice for Well-Maintained Electronic Traffic Systems has been written by Atkins on behalf of the UK Roads Liaison Group. The project has been managed by the Department for Transport and has been supported by a steering group of knowledgeable maintenance managers from a number of local authorities around the United Kingdom. This presentation deals with a number of issues, including: the current position (background); development of the Code; the purpose of the Code; objectives; relationship with other guidance; the intended readership; the scope of the Code; management of all highway assets; and the status of the Code.
