Abstract
This step-by-step video guide is a helpful introduction showing teachers and parents how to make an erupting volcano science experiment using sodium bicarbonate and vinegar. They will first make a volcano using card, and then they will mix the sodium bicarbonate and vinegar together to make the volcano erupt.
This fun STEM challenge is aimed at primary school children.

This exercise will take approximately 40-65 minutes to complete.
Tools/resources required
• Small plastic soft drink or water bottles (ideally 200 ml)
• Scissors
• Sticky tape
• A3 thin card
• Paint and brushes
• Coloured pencils
For volcano lava:
• Food colouring
• Water
• Washing-up liquid
• Sodium bicarbonate
• Vinegar
• If available, jugs and funnels
