Abstract
A year after the launch of the Made Smarter Review at the MTC's 2017 Digitalising Manufacturing Conference, the IET caught up with Juergen Maier, Siemens UK CEO and Chair of the Made Smarter Review at the 2018 event to discuss the progress that has made in the past 12 months.
In this video interview, Maier talks about the establishment of the Made Smarter Commission, how the work they are doing will help SMEs implement digital technologies and what the North West Pilot will offer.
Maier also gives his thoughts on where the UK can do better in areas such as standardisation and R&D, as well as how we can share ideas with other countries that are facing similar challenges.
