    Transport for London, Oyster Development Manager

    Peter joined TfL in 1999 to project manage the transit smartcard project which became known as Oyster. He managed the implementation programme from its initiation, through the system's design, development, testing, marketing and the phased customer launch to become the success that it is today. Once the Oyster card became established, Peter has ensured that the Oyster programme has gone from strength to strength with a series of innovative enhancements. He is now focused on delivering benefits to London arising from Oyster's achievements with specific emphasis in the area of payments and emerging technologies. Peter is currently working with the organisers of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games to deliver transport ticketing for spectators and the Olympic family. After commencing a career in the City of London's financial sector, Peter worked in local government for many years, leading major projects specifically in the area of organisational change, information systems and contract management. Peter holds an MBA
