About the session

The 2016 Low Carbon Networks & Innovation Conference provides an opportunity to explore the key learnings from electricity and gas network innovation projects. The programme will provide unparalleled networking opportunities in addition to project focused presentations and workshops.

Co-hosted by Electricity North West and taking place at the iconic Manchester Central, the LCNI Conference will be held on 11-13 October 2016. The conference and exhibition will be the UK's must-attend electricity and gas network innovation event for 2016.

    David has worked on energy and climate issues for over 13 years for 3 different Government departments. He has been at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) since its creation in 2008, and currently heads up the Electricity Systems team. He has previously worked on international climate change and the EU emissions trading system.

    Jon is the head of the Electricity System Framework team in Ofgem’s Energy Systems division. He leads Ofgem’s work on how the role of network companies will need to evolve given the energy system transformation, including the DNO to DSO transition and the role of the system operator. He previously led on Ofgem’s offshore coordination and Integrated Transmission Planning and Regulation projects, and prior to that worked on energy issues in HM Treasury.
