The energy island will serve as a connection point of the second wave of Belgian offshore wind production, as well as a hub to which DC interconnectors to several countries will be able to connect. This presentation will give insight into the drivers behind the decision to build the energy island, its construction and construction process and the technical challenges ahead to enable implementing the DC hub ambitions.
