Abstract
Nobody wants to be a victim of crime. We want our possessions to be safe when we are out and about and one way to protect them is to use alarms. These can alert us and those around us, or scare a potential thief away.
This video is part of the IET Faraday's teaching resources developed in September 2015 as part of the BBC micro:bit programme and explores how accelerometers within small devices such as the BBC micro:bit can be used to detect rapid changes in movement and set off the alarm if the bag is moved. This means that people can be confident that their property is well protected from theft when out and about!
