  • Publication date: 19 Apr 2024

Abstract

The fourth industrial revolution, also known as Industry 4.0, involves the integration of digital technologies into manufacturing and production systems to maximise their efficiency and make intelligent decisions in real time. Crucial to this are sensors, which convert physical inputs (such as temperature, pressure, and proximity) into digital outputs, as well as the extensive datasets they collect during the manufacturing process. This presentation delves into how the industrial internet of things (IIoT) functions, why it is so important, and what future advancements will shape the factory of tomorrow
