    Paul Surin

    Wienerberger, Head of Built Environment

    Paul Surin - a chartered member of both the Institute of Engineering and Technology and the Chartered institute of Building - brings a wealth of experience to Wienerberger. Paul has degrees in Energy and Sustainable Development and Engineering in Mechanical, Robotics, IT and Architecture, along with further qualifications including a postgraduate diploma in Eco-Building Design, whilst now studying a PHD in Built Environment. He is also a member of Built Environment Executive at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Vice Chairman of the BIM4M2 and co-opted expert and UK representative at European Standardization Working Group for Building Information Modelling.Paul has extensive knowledge of sustainability in construction, including renewable energy technologies and Passivhaus design. His previous job roles in construction and renewable energy sectors have given him a broad expertise of the industry as a whole. Paul is considered at expert in the field of BIM and is a Level 2 certified practitioner (Task and Project Information Manager), having delivered a number of talks and seminars on the topic, he is seen as an expert in this field. This extensive knowledge allowed for Paul to play a leading role in implementing BIM on the Wienerberger e4 brick house, the principle aim of which is to engage and inspire architects, housebuilders, developers and homeowners.As Head of Built Environment, Paul is responsible for developing innovative approaches and improvements to various areas within Wienerberger Group. He implements Business Information Modelling (BIM) throughout the business, and manages, mediates and negotiates with directors, staff and consultants at all levels of the business.
