Abstract
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), the Chartered Institution of Water and Environment Management (CIWEM) and Intelligent Transport Systems UK (ITS UK) have organised a live webinar for students in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 on International Women in Engineering Day. The events aims to make students aware of the wide range engineering careers available to women via a debate on the premise “There has been an apocalypse and there is one last spot on the boat that will sail away to start a new beginning. Which engineer deserves that spot and why?”. Student will have the opportunity to send in their questions to the engineers via the twitter hashtag #saveanengineer.
A live debate with young female engineers across different disciplines will debate on the premise “There has been an apocalypse and there is one last spot on the boat that will sail away to start a new beginning. Which engineer deserves that spot and why?”
