Abstract

Forward looking professional institutions need modern leadership and governance. Two independent reviews have confirmed that our Council is not working effectively. Governance for the Future will address this issue and strengthen the IET, helping it to deliver its strategy and mission – and to better serve the needs of its members.

Members gave the IET Trustees their mandate to continue developing their Governance for the Future proposals at an SGM in September. This second SGM invites members to approve the detail of these proposals in five separate resolutions, which include improvements made as a result to listening to members since the last SGM.

The world around us, and the engineering profession, is changing fast – and the IET must change too. Please take the time to vote and support our proposals so that we can make your Institution fit for the 21st Century.
