Abstract
Sophie Robinson, Managing Editor of IET Journals discusses the gender imbalance in engineering, specifically within quantum research and the IET’s strategies to achieve gender parity in these fields. Also discussed is the IET’s dedicated open access journal for publishing quantum communication research, IET Quantum Communication. Sophie demonstrates how women in quantum can become involved with the journal and how they can help to improve the gender imbalance in their own research areas, and in the wider engineering field.
This presentation was given at the fifth virtual Women in Quantum Summit which took place in July 2021. The presentation was divided into two parts, the first by Sophie Robinson and the latter by Salma Yaqoob, a published author in IET Quantum Communication which was conducted live at the event and therefore not recorded.
