Abstract
As part of its Industrial Strategy, the UK Government has set a number of Grand Challenge missions to put the UK at the forefront of the industries of the future.
One of these missions is to 'at least halve the energy use of new buildings by 2030'.
On 2 July 2019, at IET London: Savoy Place, the Green Construction Board (GCB) launched a new report calling for 'urgent and consistent action' to address this challenge using new technologies and modern construction practices.
At the launch we spoke to experts from across the built environment to find out what it will take to reach this goal, why it's achievable and how this fits in with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
