About the session

In today’s rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape, boards are under increasing pressure to make decisions that safeguard resilience, drive innovation, and ensure long-term sustainability. Yet, some of the most powerful insights that can transform boardroom strategy are often found not in the boardroom itself, but on the ground—with engineers. Engineers understand the systems, risks, and opportunities at a level of detail that executives rarely see. When their voices are translated effectively, engineers can shape strategic decisions that directly influence the future of organisations and even entire industries.

This presentation explores how engineers can bridge the gap between technical expertise and board-level influence. It will provide practical strategies to communicate complex ideas in ways that resonate with senior leaders, highlight how engineers can position themselves as trusted advisors, and demonstrate how technical innovation can be aligned with business value. Drawing on real-world vyber security examples from critical infrastructure, manufacturing, and energy sectors, the session will show how engineers can inspire meaningful change at the highest level.

Attendees will leave with actionable approaches to elevate their impact, ensuring that their expertise not only solves technical problems but also drives the strategic agenda in today’s boardrooms.
