About the session
Antinomy based avalanche photodiodes (APDs) capable of detecting 1550nm wavelength light show that we can obtain high gain and low excess noise at room temperature, due to the nature of the semiconductor band structure. The multiplication in these APDs is also much less sensitive to temperature than currently available commercial devices.
