About the session
This presentation discusses HDTV connectivity using HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface). It covers the basics of HDMI, starting with the physical cable and how it is constructed, outlines all of the components that make up the HDMI signal, then moves on to cover how the transmission process operates from the moment the cable is plugged in, before describing the process of getting a picture on the screen. High-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) is explained, as well as all of the reasons why HDMI often causes problems. The final section addresses all the issues that stop a picture appearing on the screen.
