Abstract
Taking place at the launch of the Future of Work Commission's independent report at IET London: Savoy Place on 11 December 2017, four of the commissioners discuss how the new technological revolution will impact on skills.
The Skills Panel comprises Helen Mountfield QC (chairing); Naomi Climer (former IET President); Anne-Marie Imafidon; Professor Lynda Gratton (London Business School and founder of Hotspots); and Kate Bell (TUC).
As well as providing stark warnings about how the world of work will change in the coming years due to the arrival of new technology, the report also outlines how artificial intelligence and automation, for example, will offer opportunities as well as threats, as long as the right policies are put in place.
The event also featured panel sessions involving some of the report's other commissioners, discussing topics such as Skills and Innovation.
