High Speed PON Technologies

We investigated flexible 50G TDM-PON based on multi-rate carrierless-amplitude-phase modulation and pulse-amplitude-modulation featuring user interleaving in one time-slot. The flexibility can be used to optimize PON resource usage we estimate a throughput increase of ~30% for both schemes relative to a fixed PON for a typical installation.
