Increasing the deployment of energy storage will come from improvements in both the technology and market environment. A National Roadmap is being developed to integrate the elements which will enable energy storage to play an effective role in the UK's energy system. A long-term and systems view of the low-carbon transition is needed to ensure the right choices are being made.
