Creating a low carbon economy is only one of four objectives of UK energy policies. The other three make the policy "a Chinese puzzle". Cleaning up the environment is laudable but it means making a market out of an intrinsically uneconomic product. A start has been made, and future generations will have a substantial history of renewable developments to study and learn from.
