Abstract
Attracting and retaining talent has never been more challenging. It is estimated that there is a shortfall of over 173,000 workers in the STEM sector: an average of 10 unfilled roles per business in the UK (source: STEM Learning). The IET has an aim to significantly increase the number of quality engineers and technicians entering the workforce, and we’re working to ensure young people have the opportunity to discover the world of STEM from an early age. In this session recorded during Partner Insight Week in June 2024, Elsa, Katie and Gavin from the IET shared some of the initiatives we’re working on at the IET to inspire and encourage the next generation to pursue a career in STEM – and why companies like yours should do the same.
