    Gabriel Badea

    Coming from a military background, he entered the private sector more than 25 years ago (1997). His main area of expertise is the physical security of oil and gas assets and infrastructures.At the same time, he serves as the Chairman of the Federation of Security Services and as the president of the Romanian Security Industry Association.Mr. Badea is involved internationally in the works of the Confederation of the European Security Services (CoESS), being an active member of several of its working committees.As a leading figure in the private security’s professional and business community, he was co-opted as an executive member of the Economic and Social Council, a consultative body of the Romanian Government and the Romanian Parliament.Mr. Badea is also an author of many articles and academic papers on topics ranging from private security to criminology, terrorism, and geopoliticsThis year, he published a new research paper titled The Unfair Competition in the Private Security Sector - an academic project supported by 11 national private security associations across Europe.Mr. Badea is also a regular contributing author to the online news publication Geopol Intelligence. Mr. Badea is a Bachelor of Law and Police Sciences and holds two master’s degrees, in Security and Risk Management (University of Leicester) and Business Administration (The Open University - UK)He is a Fellow of The Security Institute (UK) and a member of ASIS International.
