Abstract

Max Mosley is president of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), based in Paris and consisting of the national motoring clubs of 119 countries. The FIA is also the world governing body of motor sport, in charge of the Formula One World Championship, the World Rally Championship and over six hundred other international motor sport competitions.

As president, Mr Mosley leads the FIA in both motor sport and its world-wide work on behalf of more than 100 million ordinary motorists. He has also been chairman of the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) since its inception and was honorary president of the Automobile Users Intergroup in the European Parliament from 1994 to 1999. In June 2001 he was elected chairman of the supervisory board of ERTICO Intelligent Transport Systems Europe. He works full time but on an honorary basis.
