About the session

The presenter has managed E.ON's contribution to the CABLED project (Coventry And Birmingham Low Emission Demonstrators project), and this presentation provides an insight into E.ON's involvement. The presentation covers: a brief introduction to E.ON; an outline of the challenges facing the electricity industry; the role of electric vehicles in decarbonising the transport sector; an overview of the 'Coventry And Birmingham Low Emission Demonstrators' project (CABLED) and E.ON's part in it; plus a view of the future roll out of electric vehicles and infrastructure. The CABLED project will showcase electric cars across Birmingham and Coventry. The project will make Ultra Low Carbon Vehicles available to a wide cross section of real world users and collect data on their everyday use. The data will help to understand how the vehicles are used in real life and to assist in the planning of the further expansion of the supporting infrastructure.
