Abstract
Join us for an insightful webinar on the Responsive Narrative Factory project, a pioneering initiative from the 2023 cohort of IBC’s Accelerator Media Innovation Programme.
This ground-breaking project, championed by The BBC and IET, and involving key participants such as Infuse Video, MetaRex, Cuvo.io, JPB Media Solutions, and EZDRM, aims to shake up the way we interact with streaming services. The focus of our webinar will be on the challenge of personalising video content for individual viewers, a task that has remained largely unachieved in the streaming industry due to challenges throughout the production chain.
Chris Parry and Ruud van der Linden will explain how programmes can be delivered which dynamically adjust in length and content to individuals which is enabled by end-to-end metadata integration not before seen in vendor agnostic production workflows. One of the key sources of that metadata is through automatic image analysis enabled by AI/ML.
The webinar will delve into the technical and logistical challenges of creating multiple versions of content and the inefficiencies of current systems, particularly in the context of languages and compliance. Bruce Devlin from MetaRex will also share insights on the flexibility and business benefits introduced by a standardised way of carrying metadata.
This session is not just about the technology but also the vision of creating more inclusive and accessible content, opening new avenues for personalised and regionalised product placements while maintaining the creative integrity of the content. They will also discuss the critical role of AI/ML techniques in generating the metadata needed for effective personalisation.
Speaker:
Bruce Devlin, Founder Mr MXF; past Standards Vice President, SMPTE
Ruud van der Linden, Founder and CEO of Infuse Video
