In our first day of the Transforming higher education: digital skills for a digital future conference, we showcased some of the most innovative digital tools that are being used in higher education.
Our key speaker Freeha Azmat, University of Warwick, looks at Degree Apprenticeships (DAs) and how they are becoming central to refining the nation’s skills and delivering strong returns for the economy. In contrast to the traditional full-time degree programs, there are several constraints that Universities face to offer DAs such as cost, learner location and individual learning needs of an apprentice. On the other hand, businesses also face many challenges to managing degree level apprentices in the workplace, such as recruiting the right candidate and supporting apprentices through a degree whilst working full time.
