About the session

Stepping up to the new wave in hacking and cyber security in urban transport systems

Vehicles and transport systems are becoming increasingly interconnected via digital applications, making them more susceptible to cyber-attacks.

The growing number of technologies added on to the vehicles and the increasing dependency on the Internet of Things in transport systems means there is greater chance of hacking.

Transportation systems are becoming increasingly complex with integrated systems between vehicle networks, so a breach in one network may cause havoc in another.

These vulnerabilities have become a great matter of concern and an integral part of designing all the systems. Cyber security needs to be constantly monitored for new threats so that the protection systems can be continually updated.

This seminar explores the future of urban mobility and the emerging cyber security threats throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Leading cyber security experts will offer a holistic approach to security of the vehicle, the connected systems and the infrastructure.

This event will look at transport systems in cities including different modes of road transportation and rail systems.
