In the late 1990s, the Swedish Armed Forces (SwAF) began the transition from a stationary territorial invasion defense force into a mobile mission-oriented task force. This vision of Network-Based Defense (NBD) has great implications for the future of the SwAF. This presentation describes one initiative to support the NBD in which methodological elements from Enterprise Architectures are combined with system engineering concepts to provide a comprehensive model for Capability Engineering.
