Business Ecosystem Development: NQCC Quantum Computing Testbed Pilot Study
Chair: Dr Harriet van der Vliet
Conference: Quantum Engineering and Technologies conference
Quantum computing is nearing the phase of commercialisation, where technology adoption and business model design are becoming a major topic among practitioners and policymakers. The National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) have established seven quantum computing testbeds across different modalities to deliver characterisation, benchmarking, verification and exploratory application development. The testbeds are exemplary live cases for developing the business ecosystem, to complement the technical development, and to enhance productivity and economic growth.
We conducted a pilot study of the quantum computing testbed programme to explore the barriers and enablers in building a business ecosystem through the lens of technological framing, business and economic incentives and capabilities.
The talk will present the key findings and suggested initiatives to help build the business ecosystem and scale quantum computing for industry applications with implications for firms and policymakers.
